mini

We passed through Minneapolis for the weekend and had a ball. Last night (Friday) Despy and I played an impromptu set at the Dinkytowner at a show hosted by JP and the Microphono crew. Des gave and got plenty of love to and from the crowd. Thanks to everybody for the warm reception. We love you!

Wes had a worse night. He got robbed by some idiot thugs who actually tried unsuccessfully to get into the club after ripping of his hat and watch. These were the dumbest criminals on the planet. After getting rejected from the club, they just sat at the corner. I got hip to the situation and said "Well.. I guess we call the cops.". So I did just that and a few minutes later the boys in blue were on the scene taking care of business. I'm glad I stayed outside because it turned into a matter of he said vs they said and I was able to verify that the hat that one of the guys was wearing belonged to Wes. Another in their crew had on the watch. I don't know how it's possible to be so stupid. Well.. in the end the bad guys traded their new jewelry for some shiny bracelets and were escorted to jail. I think Wes was shaken up about the hit on his pride and felt like a rat for the cops being involved. But he felt bad while wearing his hat and watch.

On to South Dakota..

get to the point

The trek started 2 days ago.Tthe current road crew is myself, Desperado, and his friend Wes. They sell cds to any and everyone they see and pay their way through life and this trip by doing so. They're amazing. When I watch them it usually takes but seconds for somebody to crack open their wallet and plunk down hard earned dough for a damn cdr. wow.

Since it costs 75 cents per mile to drive this beast, it's great to cut the fuel cost by 2/3. At the same time I have great company who can't help but paste a smile on my face every waking hour without even trying. Granted we're only 2 days into the trip, but I'm optimistic about things.

Today we went to - I'm not altering the absolute truth- the most amazing rollercoaster park in the world. It was one of those golden days where it rains in the morning and discourages would-be go-ers from going and gets nice and sunny at around 5 o-clock. We hit nearly every ride with no lines and had a blast. If you've ever been to Cedar Point on a weekend and had to wait 2 hours for every ride, you'd know how nice today ways.

We plowed through after closing time and hit the road hard. We're currently in Chicago and will be in Minneapolis in just a few hours. The ultimate destination is.. .. .. .. somewhere out west.

never know

Sometimes there are bumps in the road. Even before the trip begins. They could be blessings in disguise. Or they could be ways of the world telling you that plans change. Sometimes seemingly for the worse. But who knows what could happen. Just when things appear most hectic, there could be a come-up somewhere along the way.

Maybe all our plans will come to fruition in a new, exciting way. or not. Whatever works out best.

journal

It's occured to me that a journal has tended to be a device for personal reflection. I'm new to the "weblog" thing; tending to be more of an introvert. Perhaps society has a new need to share intimate details in order to retain connection. I'm sure somebody else has noted this. Which raises another issue. That which seems to be a unique observation has almost certainly been noticed. It used to be that an important piece of literature opened boundries and allowed people to identify that they weren't alone in their thoughts and feelings. It was the responsibility of writers to be brutally honest in order to allow the populus their freedom from their dirty little secrets. Secrets we all share.

I want to keep this all in mind. but i'll still clutter up the internet with personal reflections. Avert your eyes and live your lives. We're all going through the same mess. and such a magnificent mess it is.
